| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 26, 2003 Updated: Mar 31, 2009Sampled from cask @ brewery, June 2003, as well as from multiple bottles. Rating is from cask - Golden yellow amber, lots of bubbles drifting slowly down the glass. Very sweet peach aroma. Wonderfully hoppy aroma. Smooth and creamy first taste, then quite full, with only a little bitterness. Finishes without the common bitterness, and remains smooth throughout the drink. Easily one of the best cask beers I’ve ever had, and an outstanding IPA on it’s own as well. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2005 Yes, there is "the subtle malty sweetness," as the description says, but this brew is about the hops. Bright orange in color with a huge, rocky pale orange head, this exhudes grapefruit and orange zest hoppy scents. It’s got a solid caramel malt backbone, but that is continuously barraged by the hop bitterness. Having a long, bitter finish, this ale leaves my mouth watering for more. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2006 Light amber color with a small but stable and soft off-white head. Pale malts smeared with citric marmalade. LIght sweet floral aromas in the backdrop. Fairly heavy in feel. Somewhat grainy sweetness with loads of mildly citric hops. Gets quite bitter and sharp the deeper one gets with this one. Finish is near burning of green hops with a sharp bitterness. A touch more balance throughout would be welcome for me. The aroma is full of fresh grapefruit & floral cascade hoppy notes; very fresh. The flavor has a nice piney mouthfeel like hop juice & a nice granola sweet malt finish. Well balanced, good body, good IPA. Tmoney99 (4778), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Heavy smooth bitter flavor with a heavy bitter finish of long duration. This is a standout beer. anders37 (4774), Malmö, Sweden

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Bottle from Brock_Landers. Deep golden pour with huge, fluffy head. Aroma of huge piney hops, tropical fruit. The flavor is hoppy, very fruity, with a solid caramel malty backbone. Yeah, this one does get a little hot, but I didn’t notice it until the very end. Worth seeking out!
