Golden orange IPA with a thin white head. Funkuy floral hops, very classic and pleasant, pinhey and coniferous. Im seeing tall sequoias. In mouth, refreshing casi-menthol, with floral hops, covering the mouth. Rich and complex. Like a clover field. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.

Draft at the Pelican. Light amber color with a white head. Citrus hop aroma, perhaps with a hint of pine. Lots of resin. Starts with pine, some backing malt. Medium body. Citrus follows, but for me it’s strongly hop. Nice clean bitter finish. Pine seems to last longest.

Rerate (8-2-9-5-17=4.1): Pine, citrus, floral aroma. Clear orange tan body is topped by a low off white head that recedes to partial cover. Sweet malts and plenty of citrus hops(orange, grapefruit) with strong bitterness that sneaks up and lingers in the aftertaste. Thick, chewy medium full body with fair carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Bottle (Produced Jan-06) sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere. Original Rating (7-3-6-3-12=3.1): Leafy, floral, orange, grapefruit, citrus hop nose. Hazy orange-tan coloured body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled white head that recedes slowly to cover. Fairly aggressive bitterness is not fully supported by the underlying malts with heavy citrus hop character. Medium body with lively, strong carbonation. Sampled on tap at the Falling Rock post GABF 2005.

Clean amber hue with frothy white head and above average lace. The aroma hints of pine and grassy hops, grapefruit and other citrus aromas, dusty yeast esters, and a toasted white bread ester. The taste starts aggressive and piney, very bitter and very dry. Undertones of allspice, clove, pale malts, mint, and light yeast also detected. The finish is long and lingering, full blown cascade sticks to the palate, nice. The mouthfeel is sharp and biting, refreshing in a surreal kind of way. I just couldn't get enough of this basic, straight forward IPA. Not traditional, but very American. A must try for any hophead. Even a stoutie like me enjoyed this. Thanks Joe for the bomber.

Poured a hazy amber color with a small white head. Big hop foward aroma. Citrusy and fruity with malt underneath. Malty and acidic citrus flavor. Pith/rind notes. Moderately bitter finish. Caramel underneath. Medium bodied.

From a 22-oz bomber, via traded with kenb pours a hazy orange amber brew with a good sized off-white head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of spruce/pine, grapefruit zest, some caramel malt and a touch of toffee. Taste is over the top piney/grapefruit. Character has medium body, very light carbonation with flavors of strong northwoods pine, grapefruit, and a touch of tart fruit. Finish is very hoppy and tart bitterness. The grapefruit aftertaste lingers around for a while. This brew will keep the west coast hop-heads happy!

Thanks to Bob for the bomber.. 2008, I believe. Poured slightly hazy medium orange with a creamy, sticky, well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up pine, floral, and earthy hoppage over pale and caramel maltage.. the hops appeared to be muted, but it was still well balanced. The flavor found toffee and pale malts at the core, along with the faintest hit of fruit.. with earthy and floral bitterness plus mild oxidation around.. peppery hops plus a little more of that oxidation on the finish. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. spicy with a moderate overall level of bitterness.. felt good, but not great.
