Poured ever so slightly hazy orange-amber with a huge fluffy-rocky off-white lasting head. Aroma of citrus/herbal/floral/ hops, with tea, very light malt, yeast ... intersting - I’d sniff and think "whoa! hoppy" but it would get mild immediately on repeated sniffs. Flavour - oh, my nice and sophisticated, the hops really have levelled out - initially a balanced interplay of citrus/herbal hops and juicy sweetish malt, then the resin/grapefruit pith bitterness kicks in and dominates through a long hoppy finish - great stuff. Decent body to it too, solid astringency, mild carbonation, a long bitter linger, clean and just what you want from a west coast IPA - this is, in fact, very close to an imperial IPA - excellent, thanks Paul! Appearance: Hazed amber , medium tanned , creamy head 3+. Nose : Soft , aromatic nose . Light grainy (gold roast) malting , some earthy-vanilla with fresh hint of fresh hops. Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied, drier with its slight high carbonation. Noticeable hop bite with warm alcohol side. Smooth finish. Nothing crazy here , simple ale but with rare trait of superb drink ability you will enjoy it couple of bottles in a row and still asking for more.

The hops dominate in this beer. There is some subtle malt sweetness going on here. The hops are mostly grapefruity, but there is also some floralness and pineyness as well. Excellent example of a Pacific NW IPA. Smooth taste with a dry finish, Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth and dry. Aftertaste is bitter. Etched/painted beer bottle. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2009 This bottled brew from a rating party at Patrick’s poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a slightly hazy orange colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was mild hop and dirty sock. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider having again. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Light copper color with a medium head. Nice orange and grapefruit aroma. Powerfully strong citrus taste with orange be the dominant one. Not much balance with the malt, but it isn’t so over the top that it’s pure hop juice. Very nice! ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

Wasnt sure what to expect after the Tsunami fell so far short of expectations. This one poured a wonderful orange-gold, bright, crystally and has a medium amount of soft white foamy head. Good lacing. Aroma of clear, fresh, unadulterated cascades. Bitter and citrusy. This smells like a classic. And the taste delivers. Bold, bitter, juicy and full with a lightly sweet malt that dosent dull the presence of the hops. It just adds the needed balance and walks away. Mouthfeel is delicate. Lightly chewy, perfect amount of carbonation. This stuff is world class. CapFlu (3492), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Thanks to Niko for being the beer-mule via the ferries. Great, bright, lively orange nose. Very pine and citrus with an resin elixir, oily finish. Bit orange and pine hops gives way to the ABV and sweet malts. Very enjoyable. 8/4/8/4/15
