Taste was well balanced with a tons of bitterness toward the end and a faint hint of grapefruit in the finish. A good smooth IPA. after4ever (2799), Brier, Washington, USA

Sudsy white film over the top of that. Big pine blossoms on the nose, softened with an almost palpable creaminess...vanilla? I don’t know where that note is coming from or how to describe it. Maybe one small part of this beer’s mission was to wake me up to the realization that it’s best when having something *good* about a beer be the part you can’t put your finger on. It’s not like I was in any danger of thinking I knew it all, but this beer has a pleasant mystery to the fragrance.
The taste is unambiguously great. This is probably my favorite of the pine-dominated IPAs (if there is such a grouping of beers). At least, it is for the foreseeable future, which is never very long with beer. There’s plenty of softness to the body, but it’s not watery at all; it’s rich and even a bit raw at the end. Some bubbly harshness at the back of the throat is perfect for a beer with such a nicely dried, bitter finish. I could not only drink this beer all day, I’d set aside a day to do it. Very inviting nose -- hoppy, with a little yeast. Rich texture. Malts exuded with cookies and bread dough. Hops were very aromatic; notes of wafty flowers, spices, fresh-cut grass, and citrus (sweet orange and zippy lemon). Tremendous balance. Mouthwatering IPA. One of the best out there. Seriously. riversideAK (2761), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Rating # 200 for this beer! Pours orange gold with a small head. Aroma is great. Sweet juicy citrus and pine. Ruby red grapefruit, orange, tangerines, some pine, and some sweet caramel malts too. Flavors of grapefruit, sweet orange, and other bitter sweet citrus fruit. Some malts make an appearance, but only lend to the fruity nature of the hops. Bitter sweet citrus hop juice is what this is. Insanely enjoyable. Lots of lingering hops. Perhaps a touch of pepper. The balance in this one is fantastic. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 12, 2006 This is quite possibly one of the tastiest IPAs I have ever tried. Pours a really pretty golden amber with a huge foamy cloud-like head. Amazingly balanced, with a rich malt character that reaches new heights of flavor and a hop bite that reaches out and slaps your palate. IrishBoy (2718), Bakersfield, California, USA
