Poured a dark gold with little head. Hops, orage, grapfruits right up front from the pour. Has a good amount of malts thrown in to back it up when you take a sip. I’m really liking the finish, a long lasting true orange flavor. Very surprising beer.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange color with a smallish white head. Aroma is huge citrusy cascade hops, orange and grapefruit over a very nice bready maltiness. Flavor is huge cascade hops up front balanced nicely with a bready caramel maltiness in the middle and finishes off with huge bitter sprucey hops. Very nice!

I must say Phil the Pelican is on to a good beer here. I get very little aroma off of this beer, the little I get is understated and piney. The flavor is pine, herbal and resiny hops with a little malt character. The finish is nice, a little pine and alcohol, delicious.

Clear bright copper with a puffy and well-lacing white head. Aroma is a delicate mix of powerful fresh floral hops and mild caramel malt. Body starts bold, fresh, hoppy and sweet with a refreshing balance. A very drinkable, balanced, and enjoyable IPA. Thanks TChrome!

rated 4/19/03 Poured a nice orange/golden color, with a white head that diminished quickly. Nice floral hop aroma, and a very smooth fron to back pleasant bitter flavor with hops predominating, but a trace of citrus in the finish. Very very good.

Any first impressions?
-A rich head of foam crowns the translucid orange.
-Luxurious, booming orange hop flowers morph into wooden hop resins and sandy angles.
-As the aroma announces, this is a quintessential West Coast IPA folks; fruity hops all over and just enough malts to support.
-Body is slender and quenching, making this a very drinkable pint.

What if you dig deeper?
-A wooden hop bitterness lingers beautifully.
-The biscuity maltiness fits perfectly with the colourful hoppiness.
-Orange pulp, pink grapefruit, and a plethora of other citrus fruit celebrate their seaside reunion.
-You could complain that it doesn’t have any unique personality, but who cares! This is so well-brewed, clean, and scrumptious, you couldn’t ask more from a typical West Coast IPA.

Truth in advertising. The description on the bottle is exactly what you get in the bottle. Long lasting head. Heavy lacing. Gold beer. Huge pure hop aroma. Some breweries would call this an Imperial. Got to be a hop lover to enjoy it. Not for the timid. Enticing sweetness puts in a noble effort against the strong hop bitterness.
