Juicy Cascades aroma, some spruce, gummy notes and hints of caramel. Initially soft and hoppy with a crispness in the background. Mellow natured. Medium body. Not very thick. Resinous hop flavors with a long spruce covered grapefruit rind aftertaste. Malts gain as it sits and acclimates. Toasty sweet. Almost has a honey-herbal cough drop aroma and flavor arise as it warms. Interesting. Finishes thicker with an increase in spruce notes and a lessening of Cascade notes. Drier, more bitter. Not a hugely hoppy, aromatic or over the top IPA, just a hopheads sessional. TAR (2093), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

The aroma consists of Cascades, which have no trouble emitting their grapefruit rind characteristics and floral tones. This starts with an adequate feel to the palate before the flavor turns neutral in the middle and ends with notes of plastic, bitter orange rind, and pine sap. This isn’t as pleasant, IMO, as it sounds. I find the bitternes in this as being somewhat unpleasant. Ususally, with me, the more hops, the marrier. The longer you let the finish linger, the spiciness, dryness, and offbeat bitterness play a major and unusual role. While tasty, this is little more than redundant, one-dimensional, Cascade hop juice. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2003 Good dark amber color,Nice large white head that faded slowly and left a mild lace behind. The aroma was fruity and nicely hoppy with a decent grapefruit presence and a slight pine needle like bite. The taste nicely hoppy again with a decent amount of fruit and some what heavy feeling. The finish was hoppy bitter and grapefruit.Very nice brew and well worth having a few more. But for now i'll have to settle for the one until my next order comes in. argo0 (6936), Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2002 I remembered this brewery from the GABF, and I had to try it again. This beer has a golden body, with a nice head that clings to the glass. Nice citrus hoppy aroma. The flavor is dry and very hoppy, but there’s enough malt to prevent imbalance. Good bitter aftertaste. Overall, a very good IPA. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice aroma and flavor of grapefruit, spruce and pine. Intense, palate-wrecking quality bitterness. Hops overpower a bit, but take you for a fun ride.

Light copper color with a medium head. Nice orange and grapefruit aroma. Powerfully strong citrus taste with orange be the dominant one. Not much balance with the malt, but it isn’t so over the top that it’s pure hop juice. Very nice! GermanBrews76 (667), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 5, 2004 thin, dissipating white head. little carbonation. intense amber body. smells like great weed. citrucy, piney, resinous, hints of mint and apple, definitely mt hoods and cascades, perhaps centennial or chinooks too maybe? Suggestions of pale and crystal malts. classic PNW IPA. front is bitter and intense, foolowed and underlied by a disinct creaminess. some sticky bitterness remains, but cleans up pretty well. Thanks to Niko for being the beer-mule via the ferries. Great, bright, lively orange nose. Very pine and citrus with an resin elixir, oily finish. Bit orange and pine hops gives way to the ABV and sweet malts. Very enjoyable. 8/4/8/4/15
