Wow, this is good IPA! Bronze colored and translucent. Pours with a huge frothy head. Citrus & Piney aroma. Flavor is a near perfect balance between the crystal malt and the Western hops. Mouthfeel is slight buttery. Finish is citrusy.

Wonderful fresh hop aroma, to full and rich to be classified an ordinary IPA, bold full hop taste, and you experience that fantastic aroma with each quaff, thins out a little in the middle, but keeps the nice hop edge right to the end

22oz bomber. Wonderful cascade hop attack right out of the bottle. Pours a medium golden with thin head and very little carbonation. The taste is exquisitely balanced between the malt which is indeed slightly sweet (as advertised) and a little bready. The hops are very well integrated and last on the tongue nicely...it’s as if the malt subsides gently and the hops roll in to replace them. The balance and flavour profile of this beer is close to perfect. Excellent.

Bomber from winter SS. Once again, another gem from Pelican. One of the best IPAs out there. Hazy orange with a beautiful head and great lace. It’s exactly what an IPA should look like. Piney and grassy hops blend wonderfully with a strong malt backbone in the nose. The first thing you notice on first sip is the extreme dry-hopping, but it’s done very well. It melds great with the strong malt backbone, and hints of caramel, honey and peppery spices. Finishes strong and dry. Again, another great one at Pelican. Thanks, Andre!

Bottle (650ml) 2005 vintage. Shared with tupalev, bottle from blankboy. Poured ever so slightly hazy orange-amber with a huge fluffy-rocky off-white lasting head. Aroma of citrus/herbal/floral/ hops, with tea, very light malt, yeast ... intersting - I’d sniff and think "whoa! hoppy" but it would get mild immediately on repeated sniffs. Flavour - oh, my nice and sophisticated, the hops really have levelled out - initially a balanced interplay of citrus/herbal hops and juicy sweetish malt, then the resin/grapefruit pith bitterness kicks in and dominates through a long hoppy finish - great stuff. Decent body to it too, solid astringency, mild carbonation, a long bitter linger, clean and just what you want from a west coast IPA - this is, in fact, very close to an imperial IPA - excellent, thanks Paul!

Pours a lovely clear gold/orange with a thick and creamy off white head. Aroma is a nice combination of earthy and citric hops, seems like many varieties employed. Other noted aromas include bready malt, pine, wild flowers and freshly picked oranges. Flavor is hop-centric but the malt profile is lovely and balancing, leading into a very complex but mild finish of the highest caliber. Palate is awesome too, long and refreshing, begging the next sip. Over the last two years, multiple stabs at this have proven it to be very consistent, I long for this beer at random intervals now. A very well rounded and satisfying IPA.
