Grapefruity, citric and flowery. Overwhelming bitterness. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Bottle (650ml) 2005 vintage. Shared with tupalev, bottle from blankboy. Poured ever so slightly hazy orange-amber with a huge fluffy-rocky off-white lasting head. Aroma of citrus/herbal/floral/ hops, with tea, very light malt, yeast ... intersting - I’d sniff and think "whoa! hoppy" but it would get mild immediately on repeated sniffs. Flavour - oh, my nice and sophisticated, the hops really have levelled out - initially a balanced interplay of citrus/herbal hops and juicy sweetish malt, then the resin/grapefruit pith bitterness kicks in and dominates through a long hoppy finish - great stuff. Decent body to it too, solid astringency, mild carbonation, a long bitter linger, clean and just what you want from a west coast IPA - this is, in fact, very close to an imperial IPA - excellent, thanks Paul! boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Updated: Mar 28, 2007Pours a lovely clear gold/orange with a thick and creamy off white head. Aroma is a nice combination of earthy and citric hops, seems like many varieties employed. Other noted aromas include bready malt, pine, wild flowers and freshly picked oranges. Flavor is hop-centric but the malt profile is lovely and balancing, leading into a very complex but mild finish of the highest caliber. Palate is awesome too, long and refreshing, begging the next sip. Over the last two years, multiple stabs at this have proven it to be very consistent, I long for this beer at random intervals now. A very well rounded and satisfying IPA. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Sampled: tap and bottle a few times. This is another example of what to do to make an IPA. Tons of sweet malts and hops aromas blast of this brew. The flavor is, again, what an IPA should be: resiny, citrusy, grapefruit, bitter, and balanced. Almost perfect. Definitely recommend checking out this brewery! It’s absolutely beautiful! buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 6, 2007 Thanks to BuckeyeBoy for trading this to me. Pours a medium slightly hazy orange with a big white head. Also some nice sticky lacing. Awesome pineapple, grapefruit, piney hops and light malts. Flavor is slightly dry and bitter. Piney, malty and citrus. What a beautiful sticky mess this one is. I love it. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 28, 2007 Updated: Jul 28, 2007Bomber pours out to a completely clear shade of bronzey orange, producing a brilliantly creamy head. Sweet valencia oranges and grapefruits soothe my nostrils after an intial blast of teary-eyed habanero spice. Subtle pine, mild butterscotch, pears, and a touch of garlic precede the grapefruit assault, which slowly gives way to a soft, clean finish. Strikingly balanced. A thriller.
