Commercial Description:
Rich with roasted and caramel flavors, John Q. Porter sports a dark brown color and a spicy, herbal, floral hop aroma. A rich coffee-like roast character with cocoa and caramel undertones emerges, and the finish is mile, balanced and smooth. Enjoy John Q Porter while it lasts!

Near black. Fairly strong aroma with roast and a bit of chocolate and coffee. Smooth, full maltiness. Quite roasty as porters go but with smooth chocolate richness to back it up. Finishes quite dry.

At Rock Bottom Chicago Real Ale Dinner: Deep brown with reddish highlights producing a small tan head and good lace. The aroma hints of caramel malts, toffee, cherries, apple, floral hops, and a dusty yeast ester. The taste starts with sweet mocha tones with underlying bitterness. A light fruity sourness is detected. The finish is woody, smoky, and some coffee grinds notes. Medium-bodied with a chalky and sticky mouthfeel. The cask ageing adds some nice complexity to this porter, recommended if you can find some.

A nice full bodied brown porter. Rich and nicely roasted , with full on flavors of chocolate and coffee, moist chocolate cake mouthfeel. NIcely balanced with a dry roasted finish.

Dark brown body with almost no head. Lightly roasted aroma with some nice chocolate and toasted, buttered bread. A nice tasting, straight forward porter. Well done.

Dark, nutty brown colour. . . full bubbly tan head. Blackberry hop aroma with sweet truffles, almond oils, peanuts and a light alcohol tang. Roasted bitterness that makes for a fresh start on the tongue. Flavour turns fruity and sweet - cherries, plums and raisins. Slight peppery spice in the finish, enjoyable.

Tap @ Horse Brass Pub for RBSG 04’
Black color with a light tan head & moderate lacing. The aroma is dry, sweaty, light roast & sweet fruit. The flavor is roasted too with the roast standing out and some sweet caramel in the tail. Fairly 2 dimensional with the roast but still creamy and balanced.
