Commercial Description:
Our version of the "Wee Heavy" Strong Scoth Ale style is literally a batch of MacPelican's Scottish Ale brewed with half the water and twice the boiling time to create a beer with a massive malty flavor and a deep red color. The aroma hints of rich caramel, cocoa, toffee, and tropical fruit, with a full-bodied mouthfeel and a velvety sweet, slightly dry finish. A robust beer with a dangerous, drinkable smothness!

Massively powerful and sweet nose; lifted sweet berry fruit, almost fruit-cake like with truckloands of zingy fruit. Unique. Similar to taste with the thick fruit-cake again dominating along with licorice. A bit over the top for mine but not outside the bounds of the style. Good fun.

On tap at the Pelican Brewery into a Snifter glass. Pours a dark, thick looking amber brown with a dark red tone to it. Not much head on this guy, it quickly receded to the sides of the glass. What is there is very tanned. The aroma has a very thick and heavy toffee hint with a very powerful dark and sweet malt nose. The flavor brings a very velvety carmalized malt and dark fruity (cherries and plums) taste at the start, which progresses into a well balanced hop noted alcohol finish that is present, but hiding at the same time. Nicely full-bodied, while being very smooth at the same time. So good, I had to bring a growler home with me!
