Color was a deep borwn color great head. A very smooth easy drinking beer not super bitter as I was expecting this was a very light bitter.Very good beer... harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 27, 2006 (Cask) This was a really delicious and smooth, somewhat sweet malty ESB. Has a wonderful fragrant hop aroma. Rich toasted maltiness, with some caramel sweetness and apple skin fruitiness. DA (2481), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jun 17, 2005 On tap at the brewery. This was a nice ESB, pouring a clear copper with a smooth white head. Lots of hops give a big floral aroma. The citrus hops balance out the beer against the toasty herbal malts with a light fruitiness. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA May 24, 2005 Tap at the brewpub and sampled 5/14/05 Disclaimer: This rating may be skewed, as I had just finished the 55 mile leg of the Reach the Beach charity bike ride ... and it was served in a plastic cup. D’oh
Poured red and clear with a small head. It left a decent lace, considering the plastic(?!) cup. Aroma was hoppy and woody with a slight sweetness going on. Most likely caramel. Flavor was piney and grassy hops with a little bit of a sweetness there, too. It was very refreshing after a day of pedalling my ass off.
