Commercial Description:
Brewed in Celebration of Ben Franklin's 300th birthday January 17th, 2006. This beer has a beautiful light brown color with a distinctly reddish hue. Its toasted corn bread-like malt aroma is enhanced with molasses character and balanced by generous doses of floral English-varietal Kent Goldings hops. The mild smooth flavors highlight an easy-drinking texture that hides substantial strength. Finishing smooth and clean, Poor Richards ale proves once again that "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!"

Bright golden-brown. The aroma is fairly toasty and chocolatey with a bit of corn in the background. Fairly substantial alcohol presence. Lots of adjuncts. There is chocolate and toast to try and cover it up bu it can’t really do it.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper colour, rich but brief head. Bready aroma. Firly sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Aromatic hay-like hops mingle with freshly baked bread. Fairly low bitterness. Well balanced. The best Poor Richards Ale I’ve tried.

Reticent amber coloring with just a small white head. Sweet and syrupy, with lots of molasses, some toffee and caramel, big malty body.

[Tap] Copper and clear with a white head. Syrupy, corny, grainy nose. Slick and oily body. Sweet malts. Molasses and caramel. Medium bodied. Really smooth. Yet lingering dryness. Corn and sugar sweetness.
