Commercial Description:
Stormwatcher’s Winterfest is the perfect brew to savor on a stormy Oregon Coast day. Its deep amber-red color, massive toasted malt, toffee and caramel aroma, and full-bodied malty flavor lead to a smooth, soft and warming finish. The floral aroma and flavor highlights come from Hersbrucker hops, while a toasted malt sweetness balances a mild, subtle bitterness in the finish. Its big, rich flavor makes it the ideal complement to nasty weather!

Dark brown color. A very well hopped barleywine, but there is also sweet malt for balance. The alcohol is well hidden adn it is not appear to be as strong as it really is. Well balanced with the malt and hops.

Many thanks to Skyview for sharing. Heavy cocoa nose with light coffee character and some oak. Red color. Light spice in the hop flavoring. Some caramel flavor as well.

Picked up a 22-oz bomber of the 2006 vintage at Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a creamy off-white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, oak wood, dark pitted fruits and some flowery hops. Taste is syrupy, full bodied with hardly any carbonation; along with flavors of caramel malt, dark red cherries, brown sugar and a touch of toffee. Finish is where the high alcohol kicks in. Very smooth, a warm sensation with a cherry and caramel aftertaste. An awesome barely wine and it didn’t need a lot of aging.

Bottle: Dark amber, nice amber head, light lacing. Nose of bright alcohol and fruit, some fresh berry. The flavor is sweet and full of pie crust, lots of blueberry and chokeberries. Cloud berry maybe? Teriyaki wood, butter. The finish is chicoryish with some smoke and burnt toffee. Hot. Fairly bitter.

Huge thanks to Mike (swoopjones) for sharing this treat. Rich copper, almost brown. Very thin off-white head. Nose is caramel, rich malt, loads of dark fruits, tobacco, very sweet & wonderful. Some cocoa, alcohol. Flavor is caramel, alcohol, hops, loads of fruit. A bit prickly but a solid heavy body. Very nice.
