Commercial Description:
Clear dark red color. Fresh deeply toasted malty flavors combine with caramel notes, dark fruit and a very floral character in the aroma. Very smooth, clean malt flavors with notes of marshmallow and fresh biscuits. Excellent mouthfeel and texture with a hop bitterness in the finish. A very clean alcohol presence adds character to both the aroma and finish.

Copper red. Alcohol nose with some breadyness. Very sweet caramel flavour with hints of dark fruit. Pleanty of alcohol again. Nice, but doesn’t quite have the goods on other barley wines I have tried.

Dr. Bill Tasting - Falling Rock - GABF 2009: Reddish amber color with thin ring of suds. Nose of alcoholic nicely oxidized malt with a background of apricot notes. Flavors were like bitter ribbon candy...like aged maltiness and newly created hoppiness. a bit hot.

Bottle. Deep amber-red pour with a thin dense light tan head. Aroma-wise, a bit less complex than the 2007 - more of a sweet malt and alcohol show. The taste was hoppier and still had its edges as compared to the 2007. Still a damn good barleywine though.
