Commercial Description:
The Summer Ales of England inspire our newest seasonal beer, Surfer's Summer Ale. With a brilliant gold color, and a fruity, tangerine-like aroma from the English First Gold hops, Surfer's Summer Ale is a refreshing, tasty treat. A sweet, toasted malt flavor comes from the English Maris Otter malt, and combines with bread-like wheat character to give this beer a full-bodied, rounded malt aspect. Finishing smooth and clean, Surfer's Summer Ale exhibits a wonderful balance of character.

Clear golden body. Smooth, malt-accented (bread, maybe a hint of dough) with hints of minty hops. Kind of a bland knock-’em-out brew.

Yellow gold, average looking everything else. The aroma is musky with wheat & bitter fruit. The flavor has that brutal wheat note with a little malt coming through. Eh, another golden ale. Yeast is too clean though for the flavors.

Draft at the Pelican. Light malt aroma, perhaps with a bit of hop. Brassy gold color with a white head. Medium bodied. Starts with wheat, has some citrus sour, malty sweetness and enough bitter to fairly balance the malt. A bit wheaty in the finish. Nice bitter remnants in the mouth.

Purchased a 22-oz bomber from the brewery’s internet sales. Pours a clear golden pale straw brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of golden grain malt with some lemon zest, and some grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of golden grain malt, lemon zest and a touch of vegetable. Finish is light, crisp with a clean cut aftertaste with minimal bitterness.

Courtesy of Skyview. Gold color with no head. Light aroma of lemon. Light grain taste, finishing with some crisp citrusy hops. Pretty easy going all around, but definitely enjoyable.
