Commercial Description:
Midnight black color and rich dark-roasted aroma. Specially blended hops combine with flaked unmalted barley to give this brew a full body and a dense creamy head. All elements combine in a solid, lingering finish.

Pours with a black body topped by a medium thick, brown head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and amlty yet a touch sour with slight roasty notes. Ful bodied and smooth with a dry finish.

22 oz. Black color. Chocolate brown head. Intriguing malt complexity in the nose, with hints of chocolate, fudge and light coffee. On the palate, its awfully complex, with hints of dried chocolate, light espresso, fruit and mild roast. Clearly a great stout.

Bottle. Dark black body with a small creamy mocha head. Smells roasty with chalky chocolate, toffee, and cheese. Tastes of bitter roast, oily chocolate, and caramel. Some malt sourness and finishing with mild bitterness. Solid.

bottle, from trade with kenb (I think) Has a 9 or b on in marker on the cap. Good aroma, roasty sweet. I get a bourbon scent, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee. little woodiness, not an oaked scent just the smell of a plain hunk of board. Blackish brown color, small head that faded quickly, some lacing that disappeared as it warmed. Bitter flavor, like aroma with the bourbon being foremost, maybe call it like malibu rum. bitter coffee and chocolate too. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, bitter dryish finish. Maybe it was my mood, but I didn’t like the way the bourbony thing with it, especially since it doesn’t mention it in the description. That said it drinks well and seems almost imperial in nature.
