harrisoni (5106), Ashford, Kent, England May 9, 2008 500ml bottle from the Deli at the end of Chris_o’s road. Black with thin deep beige head. Lots of choc and coffee on aroma. Probably the best of these beers that I’ve had. The dark choc is reasonably intense without being overly bitter. I would expect it to be stronger than 4.5%. Maybe it lacks a bit of depth in the mouth. Good spicey finish. An elegant flavourful stout. caesar (2496), Zeist, Netherlands May 21, 2008 Bottle @ thewolf-and-his-flock-of-sheep tasting session. Dark color. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee. Roasted coffee taste. Quite ok. shrubber85 (2462), Wallhalben, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany Apr 11, 2008 Bottle. Ginseng/Chicory root and chocolate/coffee malt aroma. Midnight black with minimal head. Slighty smokey chocolate malt flavor with a bitter/astringent finish. Nice drinking stout - lighter body. skortila (2388), Bunnik, Netherlands May 22, 2008 Bottled. Tasting @ Kolding Bryglaug. Aroma has roast, some coffee, blackcurrants. Black coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet, bit roasted with coffee and some fresh fruitiness. Okay. Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England Feb 26, 2007 A Mes rate:
50cl bottle from what used to be Thirst For Beer in Pwllheli. A decent inky stout. Almost black, totally opaque. Malt barley and some very faint liquorice and brown sugar in the nose. A little too watery in the palate and slightly salty in the flavour but otherwise all the boxes are ticked. Standard but good.
