Courtesy of cheapdark. Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Smells of nuts, dark fruit, some spices. Tastes of cherries, oranges, roses, lemons, earthy malt and some tea character. Mouthfeel is like ice tea. Finish is sweet and tarte. This brewer is really starting to impress me.

#1030, thanks to Frankenkitty and MsFrankenkitty for passing this beer along to me while at the Chicago Area Gathering at Lunar brewing. Dark clear brown with a medium sized brown foamy head. Nose is sweet and caramely. Just a bit of copper. Taste is very thin but towards the end there is some more copper and malts that feel roasted. No real hop presence. Drinkable.

On Tap from Max’s Baltimore. Dark brown ruby hue. Layer of off-white head. Slight coffee cocoa aroma. Silimar flavor along with a medium toasty malt flavor. Touch of vanilla and tar. Creamy yet bold. Easy drinking.

On tap at brewery, 03/11/07. Pours a clear chestnut brown body under a small film of beige head. Very light aroma, a little nutty and husky graininess with some toasted malt. Light toasted and nutty malt flavor with a little coffee up front. Finishes fairly dry with a little graininess. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. OK, but nothing too special. Your average Dunkel.

Zero head and a light carbonation. The palate is clean and malty. The hops balance the beer and add a little spice. From a technical stand point this beer is constructed very well. Close to being exceptional.

This was a pretty good dunkel, but I will have to re-rate to give it a justified review as my sample was small, and I had my palate mixed with many beers.

Dark brown with smallish white head. Roasty malt aroma. Taste is nice and malty and overall pleasant and sessionable. Not bad, worth a try.

Beer of the month club selection. 12 oz. Bottle. The pour is a clear crimson color with an off white head and weepy lacing. Some malt and chocolate in the nose. Smooth malt flavor with some chocolate and caramel notes. Nice beer.
