Scents include smoke, caramel and bread. First sip was nice with flavours of sweet roasted malts and a little smoke flavour too. The finnish is sweet and the palate is a little bit floral. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2006 Pours dark brown and translucent with minimal beige head. Has a mild toasty aroma with similar smoky taste. Finishes sweeter than I would have guessed. Nicely balanced and very drinkable. Overall, very solid, but nothing special. So far one of my favorite dunkels- not too sugary. jb (1057), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2006 Dark reddish brown. Low amount of head. Aroma is like a heath bar - toffee, chocolate. I wish I had one to share with this beer. Also some cinammon in there. Malty palate , creamy, clean finish. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Dark amber color with brown head. Aroma is light with hints of roasted malt and maybe fruit. The malt flavor starts off roasted and caramel and then turns more pale and grainy. I also get a hint of yeast and spice from the hops. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Very nice munich malt based beer, slightly sweet munich malt aroma with a noble hop aroma as well. Slight burnt flavor was too acidic and counteracted the nice rich sweetness. Body was full for a lager and pleasing.
