Munich and various roasted malts give it a very malty, rich flavor with a hint of burnt flavor. 100% imported Hallertau hops, moderate bitterness and aroma.

Tasting - Perfect Pour. Dark brown, light white fizzy head. Roasty chocolate nose with undertones of molasses and bread. Decent balance of cocoa roast over soft touches of earthed bread throughout. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, light chocolate finish. A nice example...

Very dark looking with a touch of red and a thin head. Roasted malt and definite licorice notes in the aroma and flavor. Lightly carbonated... overall a nice dark brew.

Nice, smooth, and malty. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest. Pours dark brown with a good balance throughout.

Malty beer with a little bitterness, not anything great, makes a nice session beer, equally good in the winter as in the summer, slight smokey flavor with a roasted malt aftertaste, decent drinking beer have had many times!

Its almost unconscionable that I have never tried this beer! Nice toffee/melanoidin nose, nutty with a hint of chocolate, vaguely earthy. A background of spicy hops. Garnet color with a foamy head. Nice clean presentation with a full rounded toffee malt presence. Tingling hops help segue to the balanced finished, which is earthy, semi-dry, and lightly hopped. Easy drinking, like any good dunkel would be a good partner to a wide variety of foods.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a cranberry brown with a minimal head. Kinda boring aroma of strong, strong grain. Damn. Taste is straight up roasted malt. Cocoa puffs? Nutty, earthy, grainy.

Bottle. Decent dark lager. Pours a sort of a chocolate brown with average head. Taste is roasty, light burnt flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Easy drinking & started to open up a bit as it warmed

This is right on line with what a good dunkel should be. Nothing extraordinary, but a real nice dark lager nonetheless. Burnt, organic/earthy scent with subtle hints of woody smoke and chocolate. Dark chestnut pour with a mild tan head and splotchy lacing. Drinkable and smooth with a creamy body and thin easy finish. The taste has a delicate balance of roasted malt and floral hops, each compliments the other really well. Nutty with a calm grassy flavor. Good Dunke
