Munich and various roasted malts give it a very malty, rich flavor with a hint of burnt flavor. 100% imported Hallertau hops, moderate bitterness and aroma.

12oz from a beer club. It’s anonymous in many ways. Looks the part, with a dark ruby/brown body, some crisp carbonation, etc. But it’s quite thin and has very little distinctive flavor going on, with a generic malt profile and zero complexity. Not offensive, but very blah.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is deffinatly sweet malt with a touch of roastyness. Flavor is again all malts with a bit of caramel left on the tounge after the swallow. Average to fair at best.

12oz. bottle from a beer club. Dark, reddish brown with just a little bit of haze. Decent head fades quickly to a ring, leaving some lace. Caramel/toffee nose. Very thin on the palate. Picks up a little more character as it warms, but it really isn’t enough to make me like this beer.

Bottle; always thought that I had previously rated this. Poured a red hued brown with a light brown head. Not much head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Some fruit and yeasty notes. Flavor was about what you would expect for the style, but probably a bit below average. Almost watery on the palate. Didn’t like the finish too much; abbreviated and not great tasting; almost chalky.

Pours a deep brown almost black color. LIttle head. Aroma is very malty. Flaor is very watered down malts, with hints of chocolate and espresso. Mouthfeel is very light, tastes watered down. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

Bottle. Dark copper pour but only a small ring of tan foam around the edge of the glass. Aroma is malty and caramelly. Soft toasty notes and a hint of watered down coffee. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, and some fruit notes. Body is light, bordering on thin at times with mild carbonation. Ends with more toasted malts, very faint coffee, caramel and fruit.

12oz bottle-pours a rich foamy light tan head and dark mahogany color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, fruit, roasty. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel/some chocolate, quite fruity, roasty, secondary light hops bite. Medium body with light, sweet finish. OK carbonation.
