Mar 17, 2007 Penn must have had some quality control problems, but not in my sample. My bottle of Penn Gold poured and tasted like classic Helles, only lacking some head retention and carbonation. I didn’t have any of the off-flavors many other reviewers found.

Jan 12, 2007 I am not a big fan of the dortmunders except for Great Lakes dm Gold but this beer is up to par. Drinkable and smooth but not one of my favorite Penn beers.

Dec 27, 2006 This lager poured a pale yellow with a white frothy head. Somewhat boring to the nose. A little vinager??? First taste wasn’t too bad but a little watery and lifeless.

Dec 10, 2006 This penn brewing company continues to dissapoint. I dont know how a brewery like this can stay in business, everything in their mixpack was crap. Aroma of a sweet, earthy, weirdness. Flavor was a little bready and very light hops. Must be unattenuated or something. Also one of the worst looking beers ever too, bud light looks better in a glass.

Nov 27, 2006 GBof A PA-on tap-pours an off white head and pale yellow color. Aroma is grain, grass, faint light hops. Taste is grain, grass, faint light hops. Lawn mower. OK carbonation.
