Aromas are kind of boozy with hints of grass, lemon and mild cloves and white pepper. Flavor is very spicy for a pilsner… a lot of white pepper and lemon grass to pull things along and keep them interesting. Flavor is remarkably full, yet remains dry, crisp and refreshing. Has an almost citrus peel bitterness to the aftertaste, which makes you want a little more. Certainly one of the better pilsners I’ve had in a while. nuplastikk (1205), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2008 750ml bottle, uncorked. Cloudy light golden-yellow color, with a nice moderate head. Judging from the slight rust marks around the bottle cap, I’d assume this one isn’t hyper fresh. Nonetheless, it is certainly still on point. Lemony eastern-euro pils aroma. Fully agree with JJPM74, there is some apple flavor in there. It’s good, but so light and sessionable that I think it should be sold in 6-packs, not 750s. Very true to style, like most Penn beers. Light yeasty notes, very well balanced. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of lemon, leafy and perfumy hops, earthy malt. Flavor has strong edges of bitterness around the semi-sweet, pale, lightly earthy malt. Very nice. LilBeerDoctor (1508), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear very pale yellow with a foamy white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of light sweet fruits, wheat malt, and grassy hops. Flavor is much of the same--wheat malt, grassy and floral hops. Nice light fruity sweetness with a tinge of hops. Nice refreshing pilsener. Grainy and grassy with some lovely crisp bitter Hallertau hops. Nice finish. Great with the food there. kassner (463), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Very light golden color, Modest head that held reasonably well. Very nice Pilsner type. Hops are surprisingly not too noticeable up front but with growing bitter finish. Similar to a Koelsch up front with light fresh fruity notes.
