The aroma offers cool-weather notes of roasted nuts and caramel. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Nicely balanced. Caramelly with good roastiness - also, a little tangy. Short, crisp, clean finish Beerman6686 (1282), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Tap at Barcade. The darkest marzen I’ve ever seen. Very dark brown, chocolate-coloured pint topped by a thick off-white head. The aroma is quite rich and sweet. Toasted malt, lightly herbal/spicy maltiness. Lots of cola/root beer like flavour with an assertive toasted rye component. It’s almost kvass-like. Warming brings up more herbal components and a touch of roasted chicory. This isn’t a marzen by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a tasty brew nonetheless. joshwilfong (778), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a coppery color that is getting on to brownish. Pretty high initial head, but dies down leaving little more than a bubbly film on the surface. Aromas are sweet and grainy: butterscotch and bread dough. Flavor is about the same with a little bit more of a complexity to the sweetness through the addition of honey and sweet date flavors. Still, comes off as thin... with malt presence not providing quite enough umph to finish well. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Semi-sweet with grainy, bready, and rubbery notes. Sulfuric, rotten milk taste. Thin, rubbery, and plastic. Hmm..
