I am a huge fan of the hefeweizen from this company but the other beers they have I have tended to take a strong disliking to. This beer would be an exception. Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a small tan head. The aroma was sour malt, a hint of ripe fruit and a light hop undertone. The flavor was caramel, nut and light hops. A sour nut note lingered on the finish. A rather nice beer from this brewer and one I would try again.

Amber colored, with aroma of caramel, brown sugar, toffee. Tastes malty, with an up front toffee sweetness that gives way to some fruit and slight dryness at the finish. Complex and very good.

Bottle. Radio star Kevin Battle brought this one to the beach in July 2004. Nice spicy kind of like gingerbread nose and a slightly dark amber color with small head. Good mouthfeel and spicy taste that works well with its carbonation. Can only enjoy a few of these because of the malty spice, but a solid beer. I would like to try this one in the winter... maybe even 2!

Perhaps it is because of my limited samples that I like this brewery’s beer so much. Perhaps it would wear on me. THis is my favorite Maerzen, with the sole exception of Burgerbrau. I think the two are comparable, however. Each is light, with a candy (but totally uncaramelized) malt sweetness and beautifully managed hops. I dig.

A good malty nose to it. Rather earthy and somewhat sweeter. Good copper glassy color with a thing cream head to it. Flavor is also pretty fine, good balance to it. Has a more sweet oily feel to it.
