Pretty much par for the course when it comes to oktoberfests, but the malty flavor was a little too cloying for me. I’ve never been big on this style, and this was no exception. Not a bad beer, but not my style.

Buttery and fruity aroma with grainy malt character. Hazy brown-tan body with fine bubbled, off white head that lasts nicely. Grainy malt flavour is fairly fruity with some butteriness. Prickly carbonation to the medium light body. Sampled at Kennett Square Brewfest 2005.

On Tap at Penn Brewery:

Amber color, with white head. Very Drinkable and went down smooth. I got hints of a flowery flavor, def. different from last years batch. I kept tasting herbal tones, not sure what they were.
Re-Rated due to drinking more of the style.

Evenly spiced, somewhat nutty Oktoberfest beer. Big white head that settles like whipped cream over the amber body. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg overlay a slightly caramel/toffee maltiness. Not as sweet as other Oktoberfest’s I’ve had, which is a nice change. Drinkable by the bottle or by the case.

Lightly hazed bronze color with a small bubbly beige head. Lager aromas, with mild toast and hint of malt liquor. Thin lightly metallic feel. Some caramel and light toast flavors. Not bad just not thick and deep enough. More an amber lager than an full and satisfying oktoberfest. Light nutty linger. Thanks DocLock for the taste. The fact that I had an Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen earlier tonight does not likely help this one.

Aroma is malty and it has some hops. Appearance is orange and gold with a small head. The flavor is sour and malty with some hopping. Very good with german food but not the best beer to drink by itself. Medium Palate. Decent.
