bottle - Pours golden with a one finger head and has a mild bready malt aroma. The flavor is all sweet malt with almost no detectable hops. It’s a little on the thin side, obviously easy to drink, and generally just bland. Fair at best.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Doboy. Clear gold/amber with a large, but rapidly settling, off white creamy head. Rich malty aroma of caramel with some light floral and spice notes. Medium body, smooth, and medium carbonation. Flavor is is dominated by caramel sweetness, tempered by a some soft bitterness, although the finish is sweet, but not sticky or cloying. This is a pretty good traditional Oktoberfest.

Amber/gold appearance with a small, off white head and scant lacing. Muted, bready, sweet malt aroma. Soft fruit and caramel malt taste with some trailing grainyness. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel and a short lived finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a rusty orange color with little head that is gone almost immediately. Aroma is disappointing. It kind of smells like skunked light beer with a hidden sweet note. Flavor is very bland, malty, nothing distinctive and no hops. It is very light bodied for a Oktoberfest and has a dirty, stale aftertaste. The aftertaste is almost sour and stays in your mouth for way, way too long. Penn is 0 for 4 by my count, yet another disappointment. They yet again test my "no drain pour" rule.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of spices, sweet malts, caramel, and slight toasted malts. Flavor is overally malty in the begining with not much of the toasted malt/bready flavor. Only a slight hint of some hop bitterness on the finiah but not what I would like. Definetly better Oktoberfest’s out there.

A soft bready Marzen for those who truly like lagers in a traditional state. The palate is medium in body with a clean yeast profile and just the right touch of Vienna malt. The hops are subdued, but lend a nice spiciness. Overall, a really nice Oktoberfest.

Okay, so this is my first bad O-fest of the season. I know it’s still summer, and it’s 105 degrees somewhere, but up in the northeast it was cold today so it felt like fall. Plus, it’s always best to try beer fresh, so no point in waiting two months for this stuff to turn to bile. On to the rating - I guess I’d say it tastes and smelled like stewed celery and plaster, the kind you seal up a wall holes with... of course there’s also the super sweet caramel corn as well, meaning this is a steawy, sugary mess. Disappointingly thin, nearly watery on the palate. Might go well with waffles, though. I don’t use the 4s enough so I’m going to give it those.

This is hands down the best Oktoberfest I ever remember having. Aroma caramel and malt, but not very strong. Pour was a nice light brown with a decent one finger head. The taste was more hearty than most Oktoberfests. Strong malt character with barely any hops. Niceley carbonated and decent lingering aftertaste of roastiness. Great!
