Nov 3, 2009 Pretty much fits the commercial description except it didn’t mention the quickly diminishing head and poor lacing., very tasty brew, definitely meant to be a session beer as it goes down very easy with no one thing to the forefront,, nice malt and hop marriage.

Sep 29, 2009 Bottle from BeerGestapo, served in a footed pilsner glass. Gold pour with a thin white head. Smells of bready malts and...well that’s it. The flavor is malty and crisp with some grass and DMS in the middle. I don’t know if this has gone downhill at all since it started being contract brewed in Wilkes-Barre or not but it certainly isn’t that impressive.

8/27/2009: Penn Pils... Aroma: Floral with notes of white wine and apple cider. Appearance: Rich golden color; 2-finger puffy, off-white head that has good retention. Flavor: Slightly sweet, good maltinss for the style; floral middle; lightly crisp finish with grassy hoppiness. Palate: Medium-light to medium-bodied; smooth and soft in the mouth. Overall: Not disappointed; complimented my steamed mussells with fennel and spicy sausage very well!

Aug 28, 2009 Aroma - mild maltiness;
Appearance - golden color, fluffy head, very nice lacing;
Flavor - light malt taste up front, back has a slight bitterness, dry finish;
Palate - unusually smooth for the style;
Overall - lighter than expected, very easy drinking.

Jul 15, 2009 Perfectly clear golden yellow. Grassy aromas, earthy and light caramel. Well balanced with a lightly toasted malt back and a nice clean bitterness, fresh noble hops. Finish is slightly metallic.

Jul 13, 2009 another surprise! me actually liking a vienna, how about that.. who said anything about a carjacking .. great little sturdy head .. light sweetness, some grain and light hazy, like the mores of scotland .. . pretty decent stuff. . . so did bart!

Jul 7, 2009 Comes out of the tap a clear golden yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is crisp, malty and quite inviting. Flavor is crisp and malty like a typical pilsner, with a fruity undertone and more rounded out than most pilsners I have tried. Texture is tingly, lively and sassy. I am not a big fan of pilsners or lagers, but I did like this one and I recommend it to pilsner lovers.

Jun 24, 2009 Not my favorite style but this was OK. Very light all around. Hoppy aroma and taste. Nice light amber with a small head. A little watery but refreshing.
