Poured a dark gold with decent head. A little thin for my taste but not a bad brew. Every beer the Penn company had there was decent. HopheadHans (755), Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours wit an amber color. I agree with those that remarked that this is not a pils. As we were drinking it, the consensus was that it is more like a Pale Ale. It is lacking the classic mustiness. Instead it is more flowery and hoppy, with hints of grapefruit. It is quite good though. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Bottle. Poured amber with a quickly diminishing head. Malty honey-nut cereal aroma and flavor with a bit of a lemony/herbal hop finish. Not a pilsner after all. This is like any given American style Oktoberfest which is at the present time taking up way too much shelf space. joshwilfong (797), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Gift from Aurelius - beer of the month club leftover - 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark golden with a very nice pillowy off white head that leaves thick lacing. Wort-like aroma with sweet brown sugar notes. Tangy flavor with some ripening vegetable notes, hints of caramel and some back end bitter hoppiness. Stick to your ribs flavor. Thickish mouthfeel for the style. Rather enjoyed this one. Slightly dry finish.
