Yellow body with white head. Grainy flavor with a moderate bitterness. Would make a good beer with chicken wings pairing I’m thinking. Thanks Alan Onslow (178), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Light amber color. Pours with a thin head that leaves slight lacing. Weak aroma - mostly grain. Thin body. Taste is well balanced, some hops in the finish. Not a bad brew at all and very quaffable, but not exceptional. Does not smell very good, slightly buttery with a lot grains and not much pleasantness. Taste is buttery, skunky and mildly grainy. Pretty poor showing here. Not sure if I’ll try the others in the Penn series after experiencing this. ucusty (1908), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 18, 2008 I may have gotten an old bottle because this one just seemed off the whole time. Light herbal notes, and sweet malts in the aroma. Didn’t taste very good, either. I picked up some crisp hops but they were overshadowed by an odd off flavor that annoyed me to the end. Smooth bodied. Meh, no thanks. OldGrowth (1432), North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2008 pint @ Tyler’s Apex. Ok aroma, Sweet, lite overall, little peppery hops, seltzer, cardboard a corny streak to it. Clear yellowy gold color, small head,no lace. Bitter finish, like aroma, but some how was a notch better. Lost the corn I got in aroma. Lite body, watery mouthfeel, crisp bitter finish. Ok, easy to drink, like the crispness on the finish the best
