Batch 001. Pours almost black with a 1 inch beige head. Malty aroma consisting of dark fruit, spice, lager yeast, and some hop. Malty flavor with chocolate, hops, spice and some alcohol on the finish. Not bad, but not quite worth the asking price.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with an off-white head. Average lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, fruit, and mild hops. Oily and smooth texture wit a nice, light taste. Overall an okay beer but more flavor is personally needed for me.

I actually like this a little less that the regular beer. Aroma was decent. Iced tea and burnt caramel. Pour was a nice deep murky brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was iced tea, dark and burnt caramel malt and a bit of dark fruit. Hides the alcohol well but doesn’t taste as full as the regular St Nik for some reason. Still a nice beer, though.

Bottle 750 ml batch 001, Appearance: dark brown brew, medium sized snowy top. Decent bock appearance. Aroma: soft aroma, almonds, mid light brown feel, some hops. Slight feel of plumes. Flavor/Palate: full bodied. Slight rocky feel , roasted barley. Chewy darker bock. Bit thin for dopple but overall quiet good.

Batch # 001. Nose is woody and nutty, garnet, pours a small toffee head. Woody flavour, nutty with some decent pitfruit too. Medium bodied, very well balanced, bitter, warming and tasty as can be. Great. Thanks Radek Kliber for the Birthday Gift!

Bottle from Total Wine, opened on Christmas Eve. Pours a brown color with a large 2 inch tan head. The aroma is scarce, I picked up vague remnants of apple and grains. Flavors are similarly scarce and include toast, green apple, biscuit, malts, and grains. The body is watery thin with medium carbonation. A decent beer, no where near the top of my list of holiday brews.

750ml from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark cola brown to black with a think and pillowy off-white/tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, raisins, some ripe dark fruit, slight nuttiness. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, dark ripe fruit, molasses, and hints of spice. Generally medium to full body with a lingering sweet finish.

750 that came in a fancy red sack. First beer Ive had from Penn, just seeing it was appealing, though it was a tad on the pricey side. Pours a nice dark brownish black with a thin head. Nose is nice with a sweet malty edge. Flava is nice and malty and pretty tasty with a bit of a sweetness and touch of caramel and chocolate malt. Not amazing, but pretty tasty, is it worth nearly $15, Id say no. Is it worth having if your buddy bought it and you got to try it, then yes.
