750mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a clear, dark golden-cola color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Basic caramel and dried fruits and cardboard in the aroma; very basic. Relaxed carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of cardboard, dried fruits, and wet malts; basic bock character; kind of simple, one-dimensional. Medium finish: caramel and wet malts.

750ml shared by argo0. Dark brown and mostly clear body. Resinous raisin and nuts in the nose, it’s simple smelling overall, and mildly sharp as well. Full with a medium thickness and frothyness, mostly tasting of some semi-sweet nuts, caramel malt and dried cranberries/cherries. Not bad, but nothing special about it.

The aroma has cola, malt, and hops. The appearance is brown like cola with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is alright. Overall it’s alright.

Jet black body with milky soft brown, swiftly settling head--intimidating in its snifter! Malt is considerable, but not obtrusive... smooth early, with a bit of effervescence and a warm finish--not feeling like 8.0%... a bit of peat; rich, full-bodied malt, a little smoke and a pleasant finish... I’ve had bocks with a third of the alcohol that strained the tastebuds more--smooth! As winnings from a fantasy football wager, this beer (courtesy of Ryan, again!) 2007 batch #001 is a winner also, the second pour producing a smoother, creamier drink--a fitting February/March pleasure.

Batch 001. Sampled from a 25.4 oz green bottle this beer poured a dark ruby-chestnut color with a large dark tan head. The aroma was sweet, tangy, malty and lightly fruity. The flavor was sweet roasty chocolate, ripe cherry and pear and a caramel undertone. The finish was long with fruit and chocolate. Moderately thick and hides the alcohol well. Nicely malty.

Bottle Batch #001 from Belmont Party. Poured clear ruby brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Solid balanced toasted earthy malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture. Moderate to heavy bittersweet roasted flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of average to long duration. Good brew in a nice bag.
