Commercial Description:
Until the 19th century, St. Nikolaus was a tall, stern, patriarch in bishop's robes. Then he became a sky-riding, jolly old elf. He may be a milk-and-cookies kind of guy today, but he knows what you want and it's this St. Nikolaus Bock Bier. It's rich, dark and full-bodied, brewed with a variety of roasted and chocolate malts. Celebrate the holidays with St. Nikolaus. He's in this bottle. Gee, we hope you've been good this year.

Draught at Speakeasy. Another bartender recommendation gone bad. I even tasted this one before I ordered a pint but could not bring myself to say no. Boring dunkler bock here. Faint nose and flavor is malt and little else. This beer is very far from being rich.

pint at Tylers Apex. Sweet aroma. Nutty, caramel, chocolate, fruity. Orangy brown color, Small head, no lace. Sweet flavor, like aroma with the caramel and chocolate being most of it. Minor citrus streak about it. Medium body, Smooth creamy mouth feel, bitter dry finish. Good, flavor was my favorite part as I thought it had a great balance of the caramel and chocolate.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. This beer pours dark mahogany brown color with a thin and creamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt, caramel and dark fruits. Medium body with a malty flavor profile that has notes of chocolate and raisin. The finish is roasted malt and dark fruit but does not linger much at all. Above average overall.

Out of a growler, shared by ratman197. Pours clear amber with a small off white head, not much retention or lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel, some fruit and spice. Flavors of brown sugar, caramel, some spice and a decent hop presence. Medium to full bodied.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is sweet with noticible alcohol not pleasant. Flavor is smooth with a partially clean finish. A little staleness in the finish. Malt dominates the flavor profile as expected for the style. I just think the finish can be a little better. After the undesirable aroma I was expecting an bad experience but the beer is actually quite drinkable.

On tap poured a clear dark copper with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, molasses, light fruittiness and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, brown sugar and light spice with a smooth lingering moderatly bitter finish.

Received as an extra but forgot who from. Anyways it was much appreciated! Pours brown with a nice light brown head that fades to a layer of foam. Aromas of caramel, toasty malts and brown sugar. Flavor is a good balance of light toasty malt, with some brown sugar and a little bit of roast. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Nice and pleasant beer.

From a bottle poured a dark golden color with a small head. Nice malty flavor with a quick finish.
