Sep 4, 2006 A dark brown beer with a fast disappearing dark beige head. The aroma is sweet and very malty, but also with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of straw and hints of alcohol.

Dec 19, 2006 (12oz bottle) Foamy large beige head atop clear, dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, caramel, some raisin, nut. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some roast, raisin, nut, light alcohol. Medium body, some stickiness.

Dec 23, 2007 Bottle... Clear, deep, dark, mahogany lager with a small, creamy, white head. Chocolaty, nutty bouquet presents subtle notes of coconut, pistachio, cashew, cola and vanilla. Smells more like brown ale than a dunkler bock. The flavor is thin, but follows suit with observations of chocolate, cola and nuts with a touch of vanilla. Surprisingly, leans just a tad on the bitter side of balance. Medium-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, mouth-drying finish.

Dec 15, 2007 750ml special bottling: Pours a transparent dark copper with a stringy-lacing ring of light tan head. Doughy aroma of sweet dark caramely malts and a touch of earthy peat and chocolate. Body starts a little thinner with some nice, authentic dark caramely German malt and doughy yeast toward a semi-sweet finish. A true to style beer and quite drinkable.

Aug 29, 2006 Bottled. Brown coloured. Malty aroma with loads of toffee. Very sweet and malty flavour with loads of toffee. Quite soft and well balanced. Pleasant.
