Dec 24, 2006 On tap at Penn Brewery. Dark, clearish caramel. Aroma is caramel, nuts, malt. Flavor is the same with a hint of grass. Fairly pleasant on tap.

Apr 12, 2008 Beer pours amber brown with a really nice head that dissipated to nothing in record time. Aroma was sweet bready malts, as was the flavor, with caramel, fruits and a lot of brown sugar. A bit thin and watery, but not horrible.

Nov 20, 2008 From a bottle poured a dark golden color with a small head. Nice malty flavor with a quick finish.

Apr 17, 2007 12 oz bottle from the Eppeist (thanks man!). This one is a dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is malty with some subtle fruitiness, most berries. Taste is sweet, toasty and a tiny bit of sourness. Sort of a sweet n sour n toasty! Like orange marmalade on a biscuit, but instead of orange....strawberry marmalade..well if there was such a thing, but you get my drift? There is also a bit of chocolate malts and some nuttiness in the finish/aftertaste. Medium body and moderate/high carbonation. A decent bock that i would be happy to chugalug on my patio without much thought. In otherwords, there is nothing wrong with this beer...’s ok in my book.

Mar 28, 2004 Tasted at the brewery. Nice dark flavor to it, and a rather tame aroma. Flavor is crisp, somewhat leaft, yet ends somewhat smooth and malty.

Nov 22, 2006 2006 batch. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with a sticky tan colored head. It also has red highlights to it. Aromas are of chocolate malts, roasted coffee beans, sweet malts. Flavors are of roasted malts, semi-sweet chocolate, roasty. Thick mouthfeel, decent body.
Alcohol is well hidden. Finished semi-sweet.
