The beer is flavorful and smooth all at the same time. It could use more in the flavor department because not much sets it apart from other Bocks. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2006 Had a case of this for Christmas - pretty good stuff. Nice sweetness, caramel, malt, roasty and slightly chocolatey. Pick some up next Christmas (if the brewery is still open - I think they’re having trouble). lamas (730), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2006 Bottle. A deep brown/amber pour with an average-sized tan head. LOTS of caramel in the incredibly sweet aroma along with some chocolate, vanilla extract and alcohol. Medium to thin-bodied. Quite a bit of caramel taste-wise too. Smooth and chocolatey. Brown sugar throughout with some hints of molasses and wintery spices. Fairly roasty. A very sweet beer. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Had this one on tap in a pint glass. Dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma had mollases, caramel, toffee, raisin and brown sugar. Taste was kind of unbalanced with mainly toffee. It was more bitter then I would have liked. Not a bad beer, just nothing special. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2004 Dense dark brown body with red highlights when held up against the light. Pale colored and medium sized head with decent carbonation. Little to no lace left on the glass. Sweet aroma and dominant malt taste with a hint of sourness. No hop bitterness whatsoever. A nice enhancement to the flavor is achieved with a small helping of spices appropriate for the season. Smooth velvety mouthfeel. Very yummy indeed. This is my first taste of a bock, and I’ll be back for more. I’ll also try to sample more of the offerings of this brewery when I get around to Pittsburgh.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a translucent dark chocolate brown with a bit of off white head. It smelled like earthy caramel and sweet molasses malt, with honey wheat and a bit of hops and alcohol. It tasted like roasted chocolate and barley malt, with hops and a bit of sweet yeast. It was very thick with a bit of carbonation, and had a bittersweet aftertaste. Overall this was a tasty beer with clean flavor. It had great body, and it hid the alcohol well. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2008 1/11/08. Draft @ Coney. Pours brown w/ amber hues. Foamy beige head. Nose isn’t very discernible. Hints of sweet malt, some fruitiness, but not much. Taste is malty, sweet w/ some caramel and chocolate. Minimal bitterness and hop character, only really noticeable in crisp ending. Really sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit lacking, watery. Not bad, but not a standout.
