Commercial Description:
Until the 19th century, St. Nikolaus was a tall, stern, patriarch in bishop's robes. Then he became a sky-riding, jolly old elf. He may be a milk-and-cookies kind of guy today, but he knows what you want and it's this St. Nikolaus Bock Bier. It's rich, dark and full-bodied, brewed with a variety of roasted and chocolate malts. Celebrate the holidays with St. Nikolaus. He's in this bottle. Gee, we hope you've been good this year.

Very enjoyable seasonal beer. Finally tried it when my buddy picked up a case the other weekend and it impressed me. I wouldnt have known it was a Penn product from the taste unless i was from pittsburgh. More of a spicey Bock with undertones of coffee. ENJOYABLE.

I was told this beer was called "Winterbock". Poured a dark brown with a thin off-white head. Mild chocolate and caramel sweetness. Medium bodied. This was decent beer.

Rather boring, even for a Bock. All this has going for it is it color, dark blood red to black and a some nice seasonal smells- cinnamon, nutmeg. Possibly a chugger.

Thanks to MuenchenerKindl for the opportunity to try this one Strong pour produced a small tan head on a dark reddish brown body the head and lace goes away quickly. Smell of malts and some caramel fill the nose Taste of sweet malts and caramel as well as some spice that really helps balance this out The mouth feel is nice and smooth A very drinkable beer would seek after it again

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. Gives off a chocolatey aroma which is present in the taste along with a roasted flavor. This one is pretty decent.

Sampled at the brewery in Pittsburgh in a pint glass. The beer had a dark brown color with a ruby-red tint and a creamy, dark tan head. The aroma was mostly of figs and some roasty malt. The taste was mostly a mixture of bitterness with some sourness too. A wet and somewhat creamy body, with a smooth effect. Good seasonal brew, probably the best the brewery has to offer.
