Commercial Description:
Until the 19th century, St. Nikolaus was a tall, stern, patriarch in bishop's robes. Then he became a sky-riding, jolly old elf. He may be a milk-and-cookies kind of guy today, but he knows what you want and it's this St. Nikolaus Bock Bier. It's rich, dark and full-bodied, brewed with a variety of roasted and chocolate malts. Celebrate the holidays with St. Nikolaus. He's in this bottle. Gee, we hope you've been good this year.

Bottled. Brown coloured. Malty aroma with loads of toffee. Very sweet and malty flavour with loads of toffee. Quite soft and well balanced. Pleasant.

Off the beaten path. Pruney, somehow rubbery smell -- like pencil erasers or something. Bocky twang to the malty brew, some cocoa some raisins. Tinny, piney aftertaste gets clingy.

Cloudy reddish brown color out of the bottle with a thin beige head. Sweet nose of burnt sugar and toast. The flavor continues that burnt toast astringency, with white sugar, caramel and burnt toffee sweetness. Some berry fruitiness and some grassy hops and puffed wheat in the finish. Maybe a little thin and burnt in the finish. Decent winter seasonal.

Little to no head on a dark cola pour - what is there is mocha colored. Faint aroma of cherries. Good, solid malty bock flavor, some ntus, raisins and brief hoppy finish. Alcohol is hidden well. Mouthfeel is just a tad thin - but overall a decent Bock.

Large light tan head of pretty big bubbles yet creamy on top. Light carbonation. Nice aroma with vanilla, malts and a bit of caramel. Maybe a bit of butter toffee. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Malty and slightly sweet flavor. Very slight tangyness to it. Not much hops. Bit of spices also. Finish is a little dry and leaves a slight bitterness on the tongue. A decent bock. Thanks to Matta for this one.

Had this one on tap in a pint glass. Dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma had mollases, caramel, toffee, raisin and brown sugar. Taste was kind of unbalanced with mainly toffee. It was more bitter then I would have liked. Not a bad beer, just nothing special.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with notes of sweetish, roasted malt and perhaps a little caramel. No real bitterness. Very Bockish and decent. 300806
