| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Clear average brown pour that mostly neglects head production. Powdery, softly earthy, rather stale nose. Stays linear all along, hinting at soya, chocolate and cola along the way, but never really focusing, never developing a fruitiness. Tiny bubbled carbonation mostly happens in the background as no clear bubble is felt, but the tongue is tickled at first, but quickly bitten. Light-bodied, watery texture. I usually dig Pennichuck more than that. This felt very ordinary and just too sweet for a lower gravity beer that I’d prefer drinking in big gulps. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

Tastes of chocolate, some caramel. Not as good as their other beers. JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Tap at Ginger Man. Quite a dark brown beer but lighter than many stouts and porters. Aroma is quite light with just a bit of soft milk chocolate in a very clean and inoffensive beer. Flavour is quite light. Sort of cocoaish pale malt sweetness. Not really bad, but not really good either. Not really offensive, but it doesn’t have a lot of chocolate. Finishes quite watery and lightly earthy as well. It smells better than it tastes. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep brown with tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, cacao, BS, slight hops, cherry. Tastes roasty dark malty, with chocoff, BS, hops, some rauchy notes...gets very rauchy as it warms. Palate is medium, and gets watery late. This one started strong, and with some reformulation could become a world class beer. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
