Bottle… Clear, deep, dark, ruby ale with a large, fluffy, off-white head and fantastic, creamy retention. The aroma is very meaty and malt-forward for an IPA – maple syrup and pralines – but also provides generous notes of earthy lupulin. Full-bodied and a touch oily with moderate carbonation. Big, meaty, robust flavor. Thick gobs of caramel and warm maple syrup are almost balanced out by a fantastic, generous hop addition (or two or three). Lengthy, bittersweet finish… the bitterness lingers long after the sweetness has been laid to rest. Bottle courtesy of craftbeerdesign!

Clear dark copper to red color, small white to tan head. Nice, fresh, fruity hoppy scent, also malty sweet. Malty, sweet, bitter taste. Dry aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel. High bitterness.

Athens, Ga - Five points Bottle Shop - 22 oz bomber. Dark copper pour, thick khaki colored head that leaves good lacing. Fresh fruity aroma - reminds me of a fruit stand - hint of spearmint. Good rib sticking grapefruity flavor with some nice bitter notes. Good balance is provide with some underlying sweet caramel and maple syrup. Solid, thick creamy mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Never seen this brewer before - will keep my eye out for them.

Bomber from cleatus. Pours deep amber with tan head. Looks like a barley wine. Aroma is loaded with sweet malt with caramel, toffee, citrus and hops. Flavor is hoppy with big punch of sweet malt, toffee, caramel, citrus and some earthy notes. More of a hoppy barley wine. Solid beer none the less.

Tap at Ginger Man. Deep amber pour with a thick white head. Aroma is very sweet and malty. Chewy caramel/toffee sweetness with a little bit of light fruitiness. The hops are kind of UK-ish. Lots of chewy, sweet pale malts without a whole lot of hop character. Slick, slightly greasy mouthfeel A bit grassy on the back and not all that good. Where are the hops?

New brewery to Atlanta and to me. Pours cloudy copper with no head. Aroma is very weak but has some caramel and toasted wheat and grain character. A hint of citrus in there as well. Flavor is pretty quick but the main thing you get is some citrus hops on the finish. Full malt bodied mid palate but not much else exciting going on in there. Give me more hops, more malt, more everything. Particularly in something called and Impy IPA.

650 ml. Mostly clear, darkish copper with a lasting creamy disk of foam. Big caramel aroma also has some orange and woody notes. Big front taste of caramel is balanced pretty well against some toast, citrus, pith and resiny wood. Medium body is smoothly carbonated and nearly sticky, but well-dried by the hops on the finish.
