Taste is fairly smooth and balanced - primarily malty, and somewhat sweet - delightfully unbitter. Overall, a very pleasant red ale. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA

12oz bottle from Shaw’s in Londonderry. Pours a dark brown translucent body with a good inch of off-white head which dissipates somewhat quickly, Smells nutty with some caramel malt. Tastes nutty with a fair bit of caramel and toffee, some chocolate and coffee notes toward the finish and in the aftertaste. Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Super drinkable, balanced... A solid brew for sure, as good as any beer I’ve had from this brewery. Awesome. joebudzjoe (224), Connecticut, USA

Nice balanced beer with slight hops and moderate malt flavors. Strong caramel notes. Decent session beer if cool, but refreshing ale if ice cold. Not bad. j12601 (1258), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Clear cola brown with a crimson tint and a medium to large tanned beige head. Grain, malt, touch of hops, but nothing memorable, and a touch of cardboard. Thin to medium body, malty. Finishes with a light touch of bitterness. Nothing to repeat.

Aroma of lightly sweet grainy toasty pale malt and a touch of grassy hops. Body starts with some doughy toffee sweetness and toasty character before a drier, smooth finish. A pretty decent amber. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Pours hazy burnt sienna with fizzy, loud, off-khaki head that says, "My label is cool, jackass!" Nose is liquid Wheaties, brown sugar, malt, very Celebrator-like. Tastes malty, with a lot of cereally malt, truly like liquid Wheaties, with blackberry a hoppy bitterness that stays for the full beer. Good, but not great. Eberyone knows what a hop-bomb is; this beer is an excellent example of a malt bomb.
