12oz bottle from Shaw’s in Londonderry. Pours a dark brown translucent body with a good inch of off-white head which dissipates somewhat quickly, Smells nutty with some caramel malt. Tastes nutty with a fair bit of caramel and toffee, some chocolate and coffee notes toward the finish and in the aftertaste. Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Super drinkable, balanced... A solid brew for sure, as good as any beer I’ve had from this brewery. Awesome.

bottle from mcox90: pours a hazelnut brown colour with a small off white head. a nice aroma of toffee malts, a hint of roastiness and chocolate with some hops. flavour is roasted caramel malts and a wonderful chocolatey finish that blends a bit of bitterness and hops. could drink this regulary a well done beer.

Poured from a growler a very dark brown with a small hint of red throughout. It left a thick tan that leaves this brew quickly. The aroma is nice caramel, nuts, very sweet in the nose. The taste mirrors the aroma, starting sweet, brown sugar, roasted nuts, a slight bread quality, that is rounded out by just a bit of hops for balance. The finish is smooth and refreshing, a great red ale that is made for session drinking.

Bottle. Poured deep crimson with a firm and clinging head of loose tan foam. The aroma is dry and rich, full of a roasty, nutty essence. This drinks with a creamy mouthfeel, but with only a moderate body. The first impression is of a crisp, clean mellow ale. But as it slowly settles off the tongue, the beer delivers a nice cacophony of rich, elemental flavors -- toffee, caramel, woodchips, and even a bit of green grapes. This would go well with roast turkey on Thanksgiving. (#3118, 10/1/2007)

Very good, full aroma. Pours with a mountainous, lasting head. Taste is fairly smooth and balanced - primarily malty, and somewhat sweet - delightfully unbitter. Overall, a very pleasant red ale.

Draft from a Mexican restaurant in Milford, NH Deep dark amber color with an off color thick and steady head that laced the glass until the end. English style red ale with a carmel vanilla taste with very little hop taste and light bitter finish. Smooth beer that goes down easy and allow for another. Found it in six packs in local markets and found the bottled beer also very good. Highly recommend it.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy tan head and mahogany/deep red/brown color. Aroma is dark malt-sweet. Taste is dark malt-sweet, maybe cherry. Secondary hops, toasty. OK carbonation.
