Commercial Description:
Schwarzbier (shvahrts-beer) is German for "black-beer". Brewed to be a light bodied dark beer with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. Its well balanced malt character is complimented with a touch of roastiness. Brewed using imported black patent malt and noble hops. Pairs with chunky dark breads, marinated meats such as brisket or German Sauerbraten. Not recommended for cellaring. Serve in a flute or pilsner glass at 45-50deg

Bomber shared by Mike (Selltibet from beerinator) at the Carolina Crew gathering - thanks, dude! Body looks like a root beer float, albeit with less beige goodness floating on top. Overall a nice appearance, even if the palate wasn’t quite up to the same leve. Strong nose of roasted malts and anise in particular. The flavor is more balanced but still nicely spicy. I’d love to have a nice plate of meats and cheeses to go with this one - oh wait, I did! Thanks, Todd.

Thanks to Mike for sharing! Dark pour with thin tan head and minimal lace. Earthy peat like aroma. Chocolate, caramelized sugar, light smoke and a little hop presence.

Pours black with thin brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and liquorice and some cinnamon. Medium bodied with chocolate, and roastiness with lighter lager characteristics. Finishes with a clean hop dryness. Interesting beer. My first schwartz. Good stuff.

Aroma of malts, toasted malt, nuts, and some smoke. The appearance is a red brown, tan head, very attractive. The flavor is malty, nutty, brown sugar, toffee. Te finish is sweet, with some mild hop bittering. Decent beer.

Very dark brown with a thin head. Cocoa and chocolate in happy abundance. Full body is smooth, rich, and gently roasty and very chocolatey. Complex, balanced, delicious schwarzbier with an off-dry finish.
