Commercial Description:
Halligan RyePA is the third in our Firehouse Series. We brewed it with 25% rye malts and finished with Amarillo hops giving this beer a nice peach and sweet malt aroma balanced with citrus and pine notes.

Bomber. Clear copper with a lasting quarter inch of foam. Nose is butterscotch, grain, orange marmalade and molasses. Tastes of butterscotch hard candy turning to orange marmalade then to some slight resin and peppery rye and wood on the finish. Gets drier and better as you go. Near-medium body is smoothly carbonated and dryish. Some creamy-soapy lace left on the glass. Fairly good session ale.

22oz bottle. Very cool label. Pours an amber color. Tall eggshell colored, creamy head. Aroma consists of a multigrain cereal or a bag of granola, some earthiness, some light toffee, and with a distant floral hop aroma. Nice citrus hop bitterness. Mostly the flavor of the malt. Welcoming spicy rye is on the more mellow side, nice light whole grain malt flavor. Medium to light bodied. Flavor doesn’t last on the palate too long, smooth and creamy mouthfeel add to the body. It is a good beer.

Deep amber appearance with an average size, off white head and good lacing. Subtle floral and citrus hop aroma with a hint of toasted malts. Rye gives the taste an earthy, grainy flavor, moderately balanced by citrusy hops and a spicy aftertaste, Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel, with a short lived finish.

Light copper color. Medium head that laces. Aroma is slightly malty. Taste is also somewhat on the malt side. Hops are there but not as present as I would like in an IPA. Decent beer. Not the best IPA but I’ll give it another chance.

Bottle Pours a hazy copper with an off white head. The head has average staying ability and laces pretty well. Aroma has a decent balance of malts and hopps. I get citrus, bread and a kinda of mocha. Has a good carbonation. The mouthfeel is good also. Has a good flavor. Starts off a touch on the sweet side and has a good soft bitter kick in the end. Has oily-dry texture. A medium body. A good finish with a pleasent aftertaste.
