Fluffy beige head with good retention leaves sheet lacing as it slowly recedes. Sourdough rye and resin aromas. Dark rye from front to back with a lasting pine finish. blklab2007 (975), Connecticut, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 24, 2008 22 oz. bottle poured a medium amber color with a thin off white head. aroma has fresh grass, herbs, light pine hops, faint citrus, and something odd that must be the rye. mouth feel is lighter with low carbonation. flavor has the bitter side of the hops, minerals, again the rye that seems misplaced, and that herbal grass. seems light on the sweetness and the citrus falls short. perhaps this is an old bottle but they just made it to Connecticut recently, although the stout they sent here was already a year old so who knows. after4ever (2809), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 8, 2008 22. Thanks, 46er3498! Pours crystal clear dark amber with a thick, pillowy platinum blonde head. CO2, aluminum, and DMS on the nose, along with some mild herbal hop and rye sour. Medium body, active carb though not much of it. Bready, biscuity mid-palate with a bit of piney resin near the end. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Bomber. Pours a dark copper brown with a thin white head. Smells of pine resin, citrus. Tastes earthy with some mild bitterness. This is the only beer of their I haven’t enjoyed. JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 28, 2008 22 oz bomber. Pale orange beer with a thin white head. Aroma is very lightly hoppy but this is mostly pale malt on the nose. A lightly crackery maltiness and a touch of sweet amber malts as well. There is just a hint of earthy hops and a touch of fruit. Flavour is quite bland and not all that interesting at all. These guys can do much better than this. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 5, 2008 clearish amber. weird aroma, i guess it’s the rye. the hops aren’t as noticable in the nose as i’d expected. light/med body, some hop flavor and a very mild hop flavor up front. some herbality, and a very weird finish that again, isn’t that hoppy. not my favorite of the night, clearly. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Thanks to Aaron for this one. Clear light amber color. Aroma is light dry and sweet hop. Dry, abrasive hops in the flavor. A roasted burnt finish. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 Poured from a 22 oz. bottle. Clear rusty orange. Aroma has a some heavy bready sweetness bearing down on the lively hop shades of pineapple, mango, apricot. Lightly leafy. Good fresh hops. Flavor has a sharp spicy, herbal bitterness and unripened fruit peels; fairly acidic and juicy, hinting at a unique kind of hop flavor hard to place. Bit minty. Medium body is soft and lightly carbonated; bittersweet floral and orange rind finish. A likeable example. Thanks Aaron!
