Commercial Description:
Halligan RyePA is the third in our Firehouse Series. We brewed it with 25% rye malts and finished with Amarillo hops giving this beer a nice peach and sweet malt aroma balanced with citrus and pine notes.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A pale amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, nuts, and pumpernickle bread, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear amber, minimal head. Piney nose. Medium bodied with clean hard mouthfeel. The hard crystalmalt lacks life and the grapefruity hops are too slight to run the show on their own. Salty piney bitterness. A basic IPA without much depth.

Amber, bright. Piney nose with some woody, mushroomy notes. Slight bitterness and an almost chocolatey, earthy character. Somewhat dry finish. Old schoolly, but it lacks brightness.

(22oz bottle) Small off-white head that wholly diminishes, atop hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, peach, caramel, orange/floral. Taste is medium sweet, peach, caramel, some rye, grapefruit/orange. Light-medium body, some resin. Seems more an APA than an IPA.

Cask gravity at GBBF 07. Attractive amber colour with lasting bubbly beige head. Nice hop. Actually nice enough if a bit thin in the malts. Peppery hop. Little bit watery in the mouth. Leafy hop, decent grapefruit. Some tea flavour, but the malts just let it down a bit.
