Commercial Description:
Pozharnik is an intensely flavored Russian Imperial Stout infused with espresso that compliments its rich chocolate & roasted malt character. Pozharnik is guaranteed to warm a winter chill with its 8.1% ABV and dark fruit (raisin & plum) undertones. Notes of whiskey aromatics are brought on by the aging process in a “single barrel” whiskey cask.

Pozharnik is an intensely flavored Russian Imperial Stout infused with espresso and (vanilla beans which are new for 2007) and an improved mouthfeel that compliments its rich chocolate & roasted malt character. Pozharnik is guaranteed to warm a winter chill with it’s increased ABV now at 10%. Undertones of dark fruit (raisin & plum) and licorice with low bittering hops make this vintage beer worthy of cellaring for many years to come. Finishing notes of whiskey aromatics are once again brought on by the aging process in a “single barrel” whiskey cask.
Won a Silver Medal at the 2007 IBF.

Lumpfest 2008- very drak with soapy bubbles. Tons of menthol that I don’t know where it comes from and think on the palate.

Pours a dark brown to black with a brownish head. Roasty aroma with a lot of pumperknickel. Fairly mild. Smoky coffee taste, some roast, dark chocolate, finishes with dark chocolate, smoke (more char than rauchbier) and caramel. Kinda tart flavor, finishes sweeter. Medium palate, kinda high carbonation for the style. Not bad.
