Commercial Description:
Pozharnik is an intensely flavored Russian Imperial Stout infused with espresso that compliments its rich chocolate & roasted malt character. Pozharnik is guaranteed to warm a winter chill with its 8.1% ABV and dark fruit (raisin & plum) undertones. Notes of whiskey aromatics are brought on by the aging process in a “single barrel” whiskey cask.

Pozharnik is an intensely flavored Russian Imperial Stout infused with espresso and (vanilla beans which are new for 2007) and an improved mouthfeel that compliments its rich chocolate & roasted malt character. Pozharnik is guaranteed to warm a winter chill with it’s increased ABV now at 10%. Undertones of dark fruit (raisin & plum) and licorice with low bittering hops make this vintage beer worthy of cellaring for many years to come. Finishing notes of whiskey aromatics are once again brought on by the aging process in a “single barrel” whiskey cask.
Won a Silver Medal at the 2007 IBF.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours dark brown/ black with a tan head. Nose is dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and earthy spices. Flavor is coffee, whiskey, dark chocolate, molasses, maple, and some dark fruit. Interesting beer, but not bad overall.

Bottle that I shared at Brothe Tuckers. Pours a black color with a beautiful espresso colored head. Aroma is boozy, raisins, plums, prunes, molasses, chcolate, coffee and some roast. Flavor is full and rich and the 10% is hidden oh so well. I got tons of molasses, prunes raisins, chocolate, dark coffee and rosted malt. Damn this is one fine beer. I love the big ass bottle, perfect for sharing!

Draft at Ginger Man. Pretty decent Imperial Russian - not quite as super-rich as I had expected. Chocolate & coffee, alcohol well hidden for the amount.

Pours black with a nice frothy mocha top. Smells of sweet chocolate and hints of coffee. Unbelievable roasted chocolate flavor that dances on your palate like velvet. Very smooth and drinkable!

(Sample Date: 1/25/2009 Source:Other) Bottle courtesy of Immy. Roast and wood in aroma with some subdued bourbon notes. Lots of vanilla. Very dark with frothy tan head. Full body and mouthfeel. Flavor has lots of vanilla and oak woodiness. Bourbon flavors are present but not overdone and complement the beer nicely. Moderate bitterness and astringency complement a dry finish. Excellent.
