Commercial Description:
Shouboushi means "firefighter" in Japanese and is a Pilsner with an addition of fresh ginger root. Brewed using imported Pilsner & Carapilsner malts and imported noble hops including Hallertau and Czech Saaz. Extremely clean and crisp with a noticeable ginger aroma and refreshing taste. Pairs well with spicey Japanese foods and flavorful German dishes. Not recommended for cellaring. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve in a flute, pilsner glass or stein at 40-45 degrees F.

I am very impressed with this beer. I’m a suprised at how good it is and how fast I am drinking it. It really is a great Pilsner body and taste. The ginger finish is light and refreshing. Not something I’d typically drink and may never drink again. Goes well with cheese also.

Bomber. Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of crisp dry malt, pepper, touches of ginger. Tastes of dry malt, some pepper, spice, ginger. Every beer this brewer has released in my state to date has been really good!

bottle form mcox90: pours a clear ambber honey colour witha soapy looking white head. great aroma of ginger and slight toasted grains, good sweet malts and good floralness. flavour is interesting full of earthy ginger, not spicey at all with a good balance of malts then plenty of grains and a touch of bitterness in the finish

Pours a nice hazy golden yellow color, nice carbonation, nice little fizzy white head, with some sticky lacing hanging around. The nose is malty, with some nice ginger/spice notes. The taste is malty, sweet, slightly bitter, with some ginger and other spice notes. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a tasty brew. Thanks Wayne and Joe.

Bomber from alldaydrinker. Nose is grainy wheat, grassy and floral hops, and a general good pilsener nose along with some background ginger spiciness. hazy copper with a medium, glass lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor has the ginger showing up more prominently, with some light bitterness, caramel, and grain. Finish is a nice lingering light bitterness. Nicely spicy pils, I could drink this every day.

22 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a deep gold with a small white head. Nose is grainy, earthy with a hint of ginger. Palate is clean, dry & moderately carbonated. Flavor is grainy/grassy with a malt backbone. Slightly bitter hoppy finish. All with a hint of ginger in the background. The bottle doesn’t mention the abv%, but it can’t be very high. I drank the whole bottle with no effects at all. This is gonna be a great summertime brew.

Again, I think this is the right beer (I hate being the first one to enter ratings from a tasting!!!). Ginger and saaz hop aroma. Dark yellow, small white head. Good taste - refreshing ginger - thin but tasty and works well with the base pils. Not bad really!

Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy deep golden, small but fairly firm head. Spicy hops up front with just a touch of ginger. Dry and crisp with marked spicy hops as it’s most prominent feature. There’s notes of grainy bread before a finish with medium bitterness. A really refreshing well made pilsener with a twist.
