22oz bottle. a clear rusty colored beer under a medium sized frothy beige head. toffee, toast, textbook malty aroma. full flavored with toasted malt, hints of nuts, toffee. medium bodied. very smooth. robust enough to bring out the great flavors of the style while still preserving the correct amount of ’delicate’ you find in this style. it’s not over the top in a good way. this beer and ayinger’s example stand alone in this catagory IMO. perfectly crafted. pennichuck is brewing some amazing beers up there in NH!!

Little oxidized on the nose, still very malt forward. Bright copper, creamy head, great lacing. Still oxidized in the sip, gives soon enough to the strong caramel malt, little burnt, burst of hops in the finish, nicely done.

Bottle from CT. The pour was fairly typical, orangey-copper with a satisfactory head. The aroma was grassy caramel with a touch of toast. The flavor followed the aroma, not much to it, a slight off earthy taste in there. The mouthfeel was moderately bodied with some full malty depth. Could have finished a bit cleaner.

Bottle shared by emacgee. Bitter and sweet hops on the nose. Amber/light brown clear pour with small head. Crisp finish and a nice malt character. A pleasant take on a not-always-exciting style.

Thanks jcwattsrugger. Pours a copper orange with a one finger tan head. The nose is sweet, malty, leafy hops, bready caramel. Nice nose. Flavor is sweet and malty, some caramel, mild lager yeast, mild bitterness, bready. Mildly bitter on the palate.

Bomber shared by pootzmacgee. Looks like and o-fest and tastes like a o-fest. boring as all hell. Nice and drinkable, if incredibly dull and forgettable.

Bomber shared by emacgee - thanks, Ethan! Somewhat cloudy pour, dark orange and earthy looking. The aroma is nice and nutty, fairly standard to style. But there’s a yeasty sharpness in the taste, which - along with a somewhat dry finish - struck me as at least idiosyncratic for this typically drab style. Not bad.

decaturstevo’s Febmergency Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Dark red-orange with a short off white head. Aroma is lightly sweet malts. Taste is lots of sweet malts, caramel, toffee, and a light hop bitterness.
